Report Time!

So I'll put this behind cuts because it really is a lot of random information. . . .and stuff. . .

So, Friday. We arrived at the hotel around noon and they let us check in early which was really nice. A cart was brought over and a very nice guy helped load it all up with all the crap we had and brang it to our rooms. Now during this process some of my prints (the Trick or Treat one) were made visible and when the guy saw them he fell in love with it and kept complimenting me and just seemed amazed that I drew that. I admit I was blushing like mad and told him that since I didn't have any change readily available for a tip that he could have one of the smaller prints. He just lit right up with a smile and after he had helped us unpack he gave me his ext. at the hotel and name so that if I needed anything at all i was to call him and it would be done.

JJ (my friend) of course just laughed because I'm sure my face was red and yeah. . .it was a nice start to the weekend. So we unpacked and during that a free coffee had been sent up to the room for me, (which was very much needed) and then both JJ and I packed up the stuff we would need for Artist Alley and headed over.

Both the pre-registration line and the artist alley line were not long at all and the staff this year was amazing. Good communication between them, very friendly and they all actually seemed to know what they were doing!

So, I found my table with little problem and was very pleased by my position. I was at the head of one of the rows of tables, right beside the entrance to the dealers room and straight across from one of the buildings entrances. So I had people always walking by and I had a breeze. I found out later that the staff had recognized my name and someone had made sure that I would be near an area where they could easily get an ambulance to me if they needed to.

I think I love these people.

Anyways...Friday started going downhill at this point actually. . . You see, in April, two friends of mine, B and J, didn't have a hotel room and because I was the only one with an available credit card i said I'd see what I could find. I managed to get them a room at a hotel down the road and told them to meet me at 3 there. B was there with his half of the money. J was not. Someone else got a call from J telling us that he'd be showing up around 6. I was annoyed that I wasn't the one who got the call, but I figured I'd just smack him later, because J can be absent-minded. . .

6 came around and the guy that J was suppose to show up with arrived and told us that J was doing soem last minute colouring and it would be 6 before he showed up. Then another call (to someone else) made it 8.

I was getting really annoyed at this point because i had wanted to go to the skit performance because a friend had told me they were doing a One Piece one that they had spent months preparing, but now I couldn't because I had to be there to get them into their hotel as soon as J arrived.

10pm rolled around and we had 45 minutes before Artist Alley closed. J was still not there and no one else had enough money to pay for the other half of B's hotel room so I had to make sure that B now had a ride to and from the Con for the weekend and had to deal with a cancellation of the room which was then still chraged to my card.

My card didn't have that much money on it and now I'm over-drawn and paying for it. I was really upset, but figured I'd wait till after the con was over to deal with it. Everyone with me told me that I was taking it extremely well.

I just wanted to cry.

Well J showed up the next day and I explained it to him, quite calmly, and all he said was 'Oh. i didn't realize that was the situation..' and walked off to the registration line-up. he didn't offer me the money, or an apology and for the rest of the Con he didn't even look at me or talk to me. This from a guy who I considered closer then family.

I just wanted to scream, but instead I went in and set up.

So, doing my best to ignore J in return I got everything ready, laughed and chatted with the security guards and talked with the girl two tables down who was admiring Delmar and introduced me to her 'kids' as well ^___^ That was fun and they all had company while we worked. She also made a beaded head-piece for me since I'll be getting another 'kid' soon. But that's another long story so I'll save that for later.

The Bunnies were also much appreciated. Zoro was usually in my arms and Sanji was in a friend's who sat beside me, unless one of their many admirers stopped by and demanded hugs. They were quite popular, and they loved it.

It was insanely busy in artist alley this year, which was good for money but bad for when you wanted to go and eat or just rest. Luckliy i have quite a few people who know of my bad eating habits and one person went and brought we some fast food and then later another brought me a sub and random people just kept buying me drinks (which were sealed when I got them). I'll admit, I'm spoiled >_>;

Also met quite a few people from LJ on Saturday as well, which was really wonderful ^____^ And there were quite a few fans of Legend as well. So my ego sat there purring and quite pleased with itself while I'm sure I just blushed and looked like an idiot.

The only two major down parts of Saturday were the two thefts. Well one was attempted. See, I had an arrangement that was made here on Lj for a package of prints to be picked up. A girl came by and said she was here to do that and I gave them to her. Then another group of people came by and they had a picture of my bunnies and Delmar as refrence on how to find me and all and they also asked for those same prints. But I had already given them away. They were confused and said they would just check with one other girl who it might have been and then check back with me.

That other girl hadn't gotten the prints. . .

So I put together another envelope and gave it to these girls who told me that if somehow the other person who had gotten the prints earlier did give them to the right person then the second set would be mailed back to me.

I don't think that first person will be giving the prints to anyone else and that hurt. But it happens. And as long as the prints finally get to the right person I won't be too upset.

Now, what did make me cry and scream and just lose it for a bit was when someone took Delmar.

I had had him standing on the table with me and when I bent down to fill an order somehow someone had grabbed him and walked off. When I stood up and dealt with all the people around the tabel I finally noticed he was gone and panicked. Everyone who I asked told me the person had gone a different way and I just left my table, left everything behind and started running around trying to find him. So for two hours, I wasn't at my table. Luckily I had good friends on either side of me and they watched my stuff.

After those two hours I got back to my table and was basically dead. Anyone who saw me at that time I apologize but I was in tears. Luckily though, it was a Luffy who saved the day. He had seen Delmar dressed up at my table before and when he saw him again (with his straw hat on) in someone elses arms he told security that he didn't think Delmar belonged with that person. Security and Luffy managed to get him back and bring him over to me again.

I cried again and thanked the Luffy over and over but he just smiled and walked off.

Delmar stayed behind the table after that. Someone brought over an extra chair for him to sit in and security just warned the other tables to keep an eye on their dolls.

After that Saturday settled down and became fun again. Another friend came by and did a Dealer's roiom hunt for One Piece stuff for me and well, remember when I said I owned very few plushies? Well, I now have a suitcase full of them ^__^ I'll take a picture of that later. They even found an Usopp one! But no Nami, although I do have two of Robin now. . .

I also had two of the weirdest sales. One person gave me a large seal/otter plushie in exchange for a print and another guy who is part of teh band that in preforming next year gave me a signed guitar pick in exchange for a bookmark. Someone else also bought an Aerith bookmark and got it signed for me by the guy who does VGCats. . .he drew his Aeris on the back of it ^__^ Oh and two girls came by and sang and danced to "It's Raining Men' for some bookmarks ^___^ Very amusing.

That was a lot of fun.

And it was near the end of the day that I met Zoro. He didn't have his swords with him because he was going to the dance but he was the only Zoro I had seen I called him over and gave him a Zoro bookmark ^__^ he thanked me and said he'd drop by with his swords tommorrow ^___^

There was a lacl of One Piece cosplayers and merchandise which made me very very sad. But it also gave me great business. See, I was the only one in Artist Alley who had One Piece stuff. Or so I was told quite a few times.

That's sad.

So, it was the last day and my legs were killing me but I was still having fun. I lowered my prices because I had made enough money on Saturday that I didn't mind giving things away for less. It was a very good weekend for me ^___^

Anyways. The Zoro came back with his swords and let me take a picture. He was great. Why? Because everytime someone asked for a picture all three swords would come out and he would try to do as many poses as he could remember ^______^ I was very amused because as soon as he posed people would rush over and he'd be stuck there for a good 10 minutes. Supposedly he posed with a Mihawk for a picture and the two ended up locked in their pose for 20 minutes. He's going to send me a copy of the picture.

So, because of all the photo taking I ended up just putting his stuff behind my table so that it didn't get stepped on and when he was done we chatted and he bought a Sanji bookmark to go withg the Zoro one and didn't even comment on some of the art I had with him and certain blonde. He actually told me it was all beautiful ^___^

My friends were laughing at me because I was in fangirl mode and uh yeah....I was quite happy. Then he asked if i had eaten to which everyone else had responded 'No' before I could even open my mouth and he laughed and went and bought me a sub.

We ended up chatting until the Con was over that day and I couldn't have been happier. he was a sweetheart who was also a goof and he was telling me how in Zoro's costume he had gotten lost at least 16 times and only two time were deliberately. I laughed at him.

But he gave me his email and promised to come see me in August and i'm still grinning like an idiot so I may, just maybe, have a sliught crush on him (and not just because he was dressed like Zoro). So we shall see what happens.

All in all. It was a lot of fun. I was stuck behind my table for the whole thing, but I saw enough and went through enough that I'm quite content. Next year I'll make sure to pace myself so that I can go to the dance on Saturday but other then that (and the fact that I never did get a photo of the damn gorgeous Ace) I'm happy.

I'll let you guys know what prints and stuff are available later. Right now, I need to start work on the next page of Legend and then chocobos ^____^

I'll leave you with some photos. Most of the good pics are scattered across 5 cameras so it'll be awhile before me can get them all together. . .

Like I said, he liked posing. . .

And their are teethmarks in that poor sword. I sat and laughed when he was compalining about paint chips in his mouth.

A good friend of mine ^_^ You should see her when she had all her black masks on. She was the coolest damn Vivi ^__^ And she drew that little picture (which is now mine MWAHAHAHAHA!!)

That was the art I was beside..I was a little intimidated until people told me they prefered the 'bright, cheerful, fun stuff' ^^;

They got lots of pictures and Balthier got molested...poor guy. We let him hide behind our table so that some fangirls couldn't get to him. He repayed me another girl with a kiss.

He looked kick-ass and tough until he bough my cid button and just sat there grinning like an idiot. His friend had a teapot for him too which was cute....

The good friend who is amazing at finding deals in the dealer's room. It is because of her that I have a Plushie collection and the the first Colour Walk again!!!!!! I loves her ;__;

These two are also friends and they always have such kickass outfits. I love them ^__^

Just had to get a picture of these two ^__^

The Vivi from above got this photo for me before I had even talked to Zoro...I think it's cute >_>;

And it figures...the one time he puts on the bandanna is the one time he's in front of a black backdrop. Vivi also got this pic for me ^___^ And I'm not going to remove the red eyes....they just add to the pic >_>;

And I think that is everything for now. . . Will start responding to people's comments after I've eaten. . .
