It could probably be a bit brighter, yeah. Though I like the pale pastels on her finger webs.

Ooou, yeah, the second version looks really nice ^^ Are you planning on doing something with the background, shading wise, or just leaving it as flat colors? I really love the pink dots on her -- just something about her having a pattern on her (scales?) that just...really cool ^^

The background will be flowy, shiny, magic-ky and bubbley! If I can pull it off. . . >_> Dots on mermaids just seems to finish them off, and really pulls together their skin and scales (or scales and scales?)

The shimmer really adds to the picture. And the stronger colours pull her out very nicely. But the ends of her hair look odd...maybe they blend into the background too much? But then again, since she's a mermaid, they SHOULD blend in, right? Hmmm...

The background will end up being darker, so they won't blend in as much, but yes she is a mermaid so she should be able to remain hidden within water when she wishes to ^__^

If the hair still doesn't work then I can change it all to the dark blue easily enough.

I like both actually. The pastel is really pretty but so are the bright colors...agh! Can't decide! XD;;
