Wow....I actually finished some art last night. One coloured and two inked and they all look nice ^^ (well the coloured one looks more than nice to me, but that's just me). They would be up on my site, except that I'm in the middle of redesigning it and want to wait until thta's done.

I will probably post them here though, hopefully when i come back this evening after the Samurai exhibit (fair, festival..not quite sure) that I'm going to with two friends. I'm excited about it, but no as thrilled to have to spend almost the whole day down-town Toronto....

Especially since they are calling for snow. . .

I need warmth and sunshine!!!

And when I come back after I post those pics (maybe) I'm going to get back to my painting *nods* i miss being covered in bright colours! And my studio has been too clean this past week, that has to change! Luckily dad got a DVD player and a little monitor for $30 that plays burned DVDs so I can put on FMA and sit and draw, or paint, or make chainmaille or do whatever else i feel like.

...hey...

I still have those wood carving tools....

But also, my muses for some reason have decided to stay silent, and that does not make me happy, so...if anyone wants a picture drawn, let me know ^___^ I need something to keep me occupied and sane.

By requesting something you'll be helping me *big puppy eyes*

I'm in love....

Went down to "Haru Matsuri" at the Japenese Cultural Centre with Rob and Toth to day like I said I would....but i honestly wasn't sure I would fully enjoy it.

I was wrong.

First off, as soon as we got in we came face to face with a full display of the armor and costumes complete with artist's drawings from the Last Samurai. And I didn't have my camera dammit!!

And then, I enjoyed all the sights as well as the martial art displays(my favourite was the Naginata) But just as we were heading over to eat, a drum beat started, one that flowed through the floor and echoed in your body.

I was caught.

Moving over to the little stage area I saw these huge drums set up, five people in position to play and then another beat was sounded. Then the real song began. I'm told it was called Taiko what they were doing and I'll have to figure out more later cause it caught and held me. Beautiful to watch as well as listen. Moving to see the way they played, arms creating a dance and rythmn to match and balance the beat of the drums. The powerful sound that sounded through you, entering a place inside you doidn't know could exist.

I didn't want it to end.

The feeling pounded through me, the beat called to me and their movements, the energy they poured forth was addicting. It could be as soft as a caress, as powerful as a blow, and all performed in a way to take you to another world, away from everything around you...

I wish it had never ended, but it did.

And now I can't wait to heat it again, even if I must wait a whole year to do so.
