So, spent all of this morning finishing off the dragon ^____^ now you guys can tell if all the work was worth it >_>;




So painted the rest of the background and the dragon's wings ^___^ i needed to add the red into the leaves so that the little guy looked like he belonged in the picture. he stood out TOO much without it >_>

And it seems i forgot to take a picture after I did the final layer of colour on the dragon and before I began the final inking so....



You get to see it with the inking all redone ^___^ And it's just been sprayed with a finish so that the painting stays fairly well protected. It also gives it a lovely shine when it dries.



And here it is scanned! And, are people seriously interested in prints of this?


And now, i have ideas for more paintings, but first, I have other things to work on first ^^; So, enjoy and I hope you enjoyed seeing him come to life!

An Autumn Dragon! He turned out marvelously and I really like how lizard-y his eye is. It's catching but somehow opaquely flat like a real reptile's. This is awesome and I appreciate the step by step even if I can't do art to save my life. It's almost like a magician revealing his tricks but somehow I appreciate it more because of the effort involved.

He's really quite lovely. I like his head, and love that he's real-looking enough that someone could almost think "hey, a prehistoric lizard" before realizing that prehistoric lizards didn't have wings. You know, as opposed to some giant fire-belching, princess-eating green thing.
