I forgot to mention yesterday that Delmar's new hands came in. They're a little paler then his body and at first i was upset but it was actually dad who made me feel better. He said now Delmar and I match even more since both our hands look like they've had frost-bite. So, Delmar's new pale hand, is just simply another part of him, one that will help shape his attitude.

So I'm actually kinda happy that it's pale.

But along with the hand came a new red wig. And although it's a beautiful wig....it's not for Delmar. He looks lovely with it on, but it changes him far too much. . .

But then I though maybe it was because none of the clothes I have for him go with that colour of hair, so I tried making him a new shirt...and it looks nice, but it's still not him.

So I guess I'll just hold onto the wig for now. . .one day I'd like to get another doll and maybe it will suit them. Until then I'll just let Delmar where it when I'm designing new clothes... Oh and the gold on the crane? It's shiny ^___^ It's why i love this fabric!

Although I'm not sure what I'm going to do with this shirt >_>

Ooh, hand stitched stuff. :3 I've done a little bit of that. One of my friends who makes all her clothes with the sewing machine can't fathom how I have the patience. Neither can I.

Everything I've made for him has been hand stitched because i find sewing helps relax me...

Plus I never have a sewing machine around when i want to make something for him ^___^

Sexy Delmar wins again! I like the colour of the wig ( I actually think my hair colour at AN was close to that @_____@ ) but I know what you mean for it suiting Delmar.

Anyways I'm glad that you got hands for Delmar. He's complete once again. If only they made gloves for him. LoL. I'm guessing that the hands were the package that arrived and not the birthday card? ^_^;; Oh well. It'll show up somewhere.

No! The birthday card arrived as well ^___^ And I adore the little bookmark inside *____* I just forgot to mention since I'm being very much a scatter-brain these days >_>;

And I want to see if I can make him gloves, or at least those ones that cover part way up the finger and have a hole for the thumb. . .

. . . that is true. And that's the only time I could really see him wearing it ^___^;

It show how little knowledge I have of Delmar and his brethren that I didn't even know that he could change his hair! *head desk*

I started watching your site a couple of weeks ago, but I never actually read your entries, just looked at your pictures x.x and because of that, I never realized really that you have a BJD!

I don't have one, but I'm always interested in how people find out about them and why they chose to spend the money to get one. I looked through your info to see if you had one of those "Q&A" (since so many owners have one) but alas, you gave us the ability to ask you anything. Which is good for me n n

So. I was curious; what is Delmar's story? What type of doll is he? I figure that I'm going to go through your journal to read entries about him (and whatever else interests me). I'm actually in a class I can't seem to pay attention to, so I'll be doing this now. :p

What is Delmar's story? Well, I guess it started with I first was introduced to BJDs through people on LJ. A couple in particular really captivated me and made me want one for my own.

So I went hunting through all thh various sites and finally found Dream of Doll and their doll Camine. Out of all the dolls that I went looking through, he's the only one that made me stop and stare. he's the only one I kept coming back to even though many other dolls had me squeeing happily and such. For about two weeks straight I was looking, but when nothing else could take my interest away from him, I decided to give myself a test, because I know I'm very much an impulse buyer.

If I could wait one year, I would buy him. If at the end of that one year time I was still wanting him, still interested, then I would know he is the one for me.

So I waited and a year passed and I still wanted him with all my heart. It took the help of quite a few people to get him, but order him I did and when he finally arrived....well it was during the rainiest day of the year. I have never seen such a wild storm as I did the night he arrived and that helped name him. Delmar means: From the sea and with all that rain pouring down, all that water that had probably once come from the sea, it felt like the ocean had given him to me.

And he came at the perfect time.

I needed a constant in my life. Something I could focus on and he became that. I don't know why other people have gotten their kids, but for me, he has been a model (he's helped me with a lot of drawings and for fashion as well), he's been a focus and he's simply become a treasure.

I look at him and remember all the people who helped me get him and all the people who helped me out getting him to where he is now and I know that I'm loved. he reminds me of this daily and for that I am forever thankful. Beyond that..he has his own story, but he's not quite ready to tell it ^___^

The idea to wait a year is a great idea. I think I just might need to give that a try.
