Sometimes I wish there were save points...

So, job interview today?

I screwed up. I had written down 2:30 but when I got there I discovered it was suppose to be 2 and the lady who had opened the door just glared at me, told me an interview was already underway and that they were booked up so they'd have to re-schedule me.

And then she closed the door.

So, I feel bad and annoyed with myself, but I'm going to try and not let myself get too upset. Instead (since i unpacked my drawing stuff and found a bit of my desk) I'm going to sit down and draw something cute and fluffy and will probably have Zack in it but I make no promises!

I'm not the only one who screws up times like that, right?

Aw, honey, hopefully things'll turn out fine. :(

I hope so, if not, I'll still figure something out. . .

i don't know you that well [mostly from the pirates art] but you don't strike me as being irresponsible. this seems to me like one of those times when there's just too much going on, and something slipped sideways- in this case, writing down the time- and you don't find out until you try to put that piece in and it doesn't fit.

so in answer to your question, yes- i do. one reason i try to keep things as simple as possible- so that the time slips are as few and far between as possible. cos they surely do happen.

I'd like to blame it on the waaay too much going on, but still, I'm annoyed at myself. But it's nice just knowing that it's a normal thing that happens once in a while.

OHNOES! I'm so sorry you missed your interview! I did that babysitting one time and the family really chewed me out. Told all the other families that I babysit for as well, so I lost a LOT of jobs! So, no, you're not the only one who screws up.

Ouch! Well, thankfully only one job rests on this, but we shall see what happens.

Don't worry I did the same thing for a job interveiw... was scheduled at 3, thought it was 3:30....Oi... I felt really dumb.. but don't worry, I still got the job after I finally got to get my interveiw!

So there is still hope for me huh? Well I'll keep my spirits up and hope for the best.

Aw, that sucks. But yeah, I've definitely done stuff like that. Better luck next time?

[identity profile] luco-millian.livejournal.com 2008-04-21 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Yup, I guess that's all that can really be said ^^;

Awww don't worry about it. It happens. It might be for the best after all, because if the lady is like that for an interview, she must be real fun to work with.

[identity profile] luco-millian.livejournal.com 2008-04-21 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
She was an....interesting person. But what's done is done and I guess I'll deal with whatever happens next.

[identity profile] prettyarbitrary.livejournal.com 2008-04-21 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I'll tell you what, it's not necessarily your fault. Twice in my life I have gotten screwed on something like that, because the person scheduling the interview with me got the time or date messed up. Once I wasn't sure, except that I could swear to God I remembered her voice saying 12:30, not 1:30, and the other time I know it was their fault because they'd left a message on my answering machine giving me contradictory information.

Of course, I've also messed up , so y'know. :) Either way, I'm right there with you.

[identity profile] luco-millian.livejournal.com 2008-04-21 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmmm, maybe it was their fault? But there is no way to prove it and I'll just have to figure out how to work with what I've got.

Heh. I missed one by writing down the wrong day...

[identity profile] luco-millian.livejournal.com 2008-04-21 11:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, so I was a little closer then that. . ..

One of my teachers who was giving us a guide on getting a job said it wasn't unusual in a job search for someone to do that (due to late buses or whatever) and that it doesn't always mean the worst and that some places don't even care that much. However, since they were booked out, odds were it would have been really hard to get the job anyway. When there is lots of people the interviewers can get really ruthless and discount people on what font they use on their resume and stuff like that just to cut down the number of applicants.

[identity profile] cephy.livejournal.com 2008-04-22 08:05 pm (UTC)(link)
No, no you're definitely not the only one. I had this one interview where I forgot to ask for directions and ended up not being able to find the place. >.< So, *hug* Don't stress about it, I'm sure things will work out.
