Convention Update!
I would have done this yesterday except yesterday I was sick...really really sick....
So I shall do it today...^___^
Thursday:
In the evening went to pick up Lee (younger brother) and Meaghan (my friend) and drive them back to the appartment. They seemed to form an unholy alliance in teh car and started tormenting me immediately ^^;;; About being old, playing with my hair...teasing me that the brighlty wrapped gift at my feet was not a PS2 but a brick as dad kept saying...
We all survived and got back here in one piece where I ignored them all and ripped open my gift..which WAS a PS2 (and I still have to thank all the people who put in money for it....it's my baby)
And we named it Brick....
Okay...back to the report. I had planned on getting enough sleep that night and gave Meghan the air mattress. Last time we shared a bed we both ended up bruised since I either sleep in one spot like a rock and don't move or else I fight...clawing, lashing out, biting, or so I'm told and Meaghan has the marks to prove it..or that could just be Shane. . .
But anyways...we had our own little beds, Lee was thrown in the studio and it was dark, so sleep is good right?
Wrong.
Another traditon Megsie and I have seems to be spending almost all of the first night talking about the vast amount of time we've missed. And I learned some rather interesting things....
But we did get some sleep and the next day we were all prepared to go and wait in line for our tickets..
Friday:
Got to the Convention Center at noon. Lucily we always have friends in line and thus didn't have to try and find the end of it.
So a four hour wait for a ticket was taken down to two....
Not bad.
The friends in line are convention friends...it seems thats the only time we hang out but we still all remember and adore each other ^___^ I got my Pirate Bracelet that I usually steal off Nick and we named his briefcase and used Electrical Tape to put the face of an evil bunny on it.
Than we used same friend connections in the actual line to get upstairs and amanged to be in the same hallway where the stairs up where.
JJ teased me with the FMA Artbook, but she did give me a poster so all is good.
Being in Line was actually fun...you learn new things like the fact that Canadian Mountain Dew doesn't have Caffeine because we have a stupid law that says something along the lines of "Anything with caffeine must be coffee coloured...."
Evil bastards....
So we finally make it upstairs....and a note....I have to try and make sure lee is okay and enjoying himself since even though he's 18 this will be his first Con....
He did very well.
I did all my buying that day since I didn't have much money...
But I got what I wanted ^______^
And then headed back downstairs, took in some movies and waited for Lee and Megsie to be done. I also sent one of the guys for food...
While waiting for food...I sat and drew...(Ravenwoodii..your little Avatar has been drawn and inked and shaded, it just needs colour now ^___^) Got alot of nice comments and there were many who knew me from Anime North and were mad that I wasn't selling stuff at this one. i felt loved!
Then Lee came back down with the best suprise for me....
Squall's Pendant....and not the cheap ones either...this is the nice full metal one.....and it hasn't come off me since he gave it to me ^____^ twas his birthday present to me..
Well after a bunch of other stuff..hunting costumes for pictures, chatting with random people and me guarding tons of bags...we finally got home where I played my Brick, Lee used the computer and Megsie cooked...she likes cooking...alot...
And then Lee reminded me...his costume wasn't done...
So I had to sit there and sew and sculpt and hunt down my fabric pastels, but i wasn't feeling well since I didn't have much sleep. Those two can operate on little sleep, I cannot. It affects my moods far too easily.
So I agve them each something to do for the costume and said I'd do the rest in the morning.
Lee was going as Kite from .Hack
And I did finish his costume in the mroning, while dressed in my costume and trying to help Megsie keep hers together...
For three hours I was running around sewing, making chains, applying velcro and painting and managed to get them both ready and down to the Convention for noon where I sent lee off to teh Voice Acting seminar (the kid is good...really really good and I want him to be able to do something he loves so if anyone has information on getting into Voice Acting could you please pass it on to me..??)
And then Megsie and I set up base and she went off on the hunt for her pets (megsie is the type of girl who attracts the boys,. and then collars them..thus the reason I'm her Pet Keeper)
Had a lot of nice comments on my costume and it was fun having a Ranma and a Ryouga on leashes.....they're both guys I know so it worked out, but trying to drag them through the crowd in the dealer's room was interesting...
Megsie had two guys, I had two guys...but I caught more attention since I was the hooded and masked one in blue and shinyness.
We also kept having to stop for Group shots of us and trying to get the leashes from getting tangeled.
And of course we had to leash random guys while we were at it...
And i met the coolest bunny artist!!! www.dragon-mango.com
Go there look in the Buy section and check out the bunny and sheep pins ^^;;;; White Aster...I got you one of the insane evil grinning ones as a pin....which I'll send in a card since it's small ^^;;;
He loved my costume and wanted to draw it so I had to pose, which was fun since I got a set of magnets for free!
The day continued on like that, and the most comments I got about the guys on leashes were from older women congratualting me on training them young. . .Twas all fun.
Also during the masquerade...Stage Ninjas proved they were still the best feature of th convention!!
Does everyone else have them?? they have they're own fan-base here ^^;;;
One of the skits was also how to become a ninja in 30-minutes...
"Don't have a drak and mysterious past? We'll come over, burn your house down and kill your dad!! Now how's THAT for plot!"
Lots of fun ^________^
We didn't go the third day and used that day to get both of them home and let me try to rest.....I probably would ahve enjoyed it more without the stress of Saturady morning and better sleep but it was still good...
