Hi again!!
Wow, this has been a busy week.
The money has let us pay bills, but because everything was sooo very far behind we had to go to all the offices and pay there, which was a lot of driving and they all have stupid hours. Plus internet got cut off before we could get to it and that took forever to sort out, and the library was switching their network so I had no internet access :___: Well, I was really just upset because I have commissions that require reference (which the library could not provide) and I needed addresses to ship things out.
Also, cat needed to go the vet, mom needed some medical appointments and just....lots of running around.
BUT! I'm pretty sure we are all good now.
Which is odd.
I don't think they've been caught up and ahead in years. So I'm putting aside money each month so that this doesn't happen again. Oh!! I also got new brushes and markers and comic paper and SQUEEEE! I shopped for art supplies and the cashier gave me the student discount ^______^
But, being without reference to draw did leave me with time to play video games and uhhh...Disgaea 4 owns my soul. Seriously this game....wait. I'll put it behind a cut because I'll probably be very chatty about this, so those not interested in it ((although their world system Celestia, Earth, Netherworld)) is REALLY cool!
So continuing...
See, D 3 was cool. Almaz and Mao and all them amused me. Almaz was the only one I really got attached to though and even then it was only a 'ohh cute' kinda love. D 2 had been my favourite because Adell was damn awesome and the story was interesting, but again, it didn't really have depth. D 1 had the most depth and could have gone really REALLY well, but later games, turned the three main characters into something completely different! It's like they took Laharl and sent him back to the beginning of the game and just spoiled him. Flonne as the Fallen Angel was turned into a money-grubbing fangirl in other games and Etna went from being someone who loved the former Overlord and wanted Laharl to turn out like him, to a bratty little demon obsessed with sweets.
It killed them!
And then D 4 came about. NOW we have what feels like a complete world and system. We have Earth, where humans live. The Netherworld is full of demons whose job it is to scare humans, and make them want to stay on the 'good' path in their lives. This creates 'Fear Energy' which is what the demons need to live. And by staying on the good path, people keep faith and love within them, which creates 'Awe Energy' which Celestia needs to run. Celestia is also funded by all those donations made to the church and demons, well they're greedy and steal.
Now, if a human has commited sins, his soul is turned into a prinny (a penguin like creature). Depending on how bad their sins were they either go to Celestia or the Netherworld where they will work hard till their sins are paid off.
It's a fun little world! I won't go into plot details ((since I don't want to spoil)), but I'm just glad that they explained all this. That they gave us a good base. Before everything was vague and unfocused. NOW I can see how and why people are doing things! I also think they did a good job with the Main Characters. All of them have depth and work together and have their little quirks, without becoming jokes! Are they super in-depth? No. But they have layers and reasons for how they act and well, I'm truly enjoying them. I got through the story and got the normal ending. Now I want to go get all the rest!
So...as a warning, there will probably be a LOT of Disgaea 4 art. I apologize if you get sick of it >>;
