Glad to read you got a chance to see some of the fireworks, too. Only caught the last five minutes of the local display myself (and I was surprised, knowing where they were setting them off, that we could even see them, but had a surprisingly good view of the really-high ones anyway). But they are always a good thing. :)
Well I was a little upset that everyone had left me alone and was quite depressed about missing the big display down by the lake. But then I decided to go for my evening walk and just as i rounded the apartment and came to the small field beside me, a MASSIVE firework went off right above me! I stopped and watched and it was a beautiful display, not just the little flares but the full blown blooming ones!
It was gorgeous and I was right there. No crowds, no nothing! Then I heard the clapping and realized everyone in our little area had to come to see it and one of them later told me that they all pool money together and put on their own display for the elderly and little ones in the area who can't make it down to the lake.
It was perfect timing and just really made my day ^____^
*happiness* indeed (icon love!) I always had a really hard time getting down to the lakeshore for fireworks when I was growing up in Toronto (well, Etobicoke really); only really managed it a couple of times all the years I was there. *pouts* So, sympathies. However, yay! for the neighbours! We do a thing like that for Victoria Day here, with a couple of friends in the neighbourhood, and it's wonderful, even if it's just tiny.
...and, btw - yay for you being able to draw Zoro again! :)
