Busy busy busy!
Oct. 30th, 2011 11:37 amOMG A bit of free time!!!
This past week has been fun but oh so very busy! Both Lee's B-day and the Mall's Halloween event were yesterday and I managed to finish my costume paint all the Madoka girls on Lee's cake, complete a b-day commission on time AND spent the entire day yesterday face-painting!!
They remembered me from last year!!
And this year, Megs joined me ((and she was wearing the 'anime' catwoman suit...all tight black spandexy)) so she got all the creepy male attention and I got to paint all the pretty princessy/fairy/dragonish things! We were also considered part of the 'official' event so we could accept the donations for charity and our little booth raised the most money! Parents and kids adored I work and kept coming back to put in more change and money! It was so sweet. It was for Grieving Children, and a few of the kids in the program came by and we did up there faces all nice and then had photos taken so they could add it to their memories and one little girl wanted to be made 'real pretty' so that she could put the picture with her father before they buried him.
That one made me cry after. But it was good.
We also had a Korean lady who worked at the Manicure salon which was close to where we were stationed and this was her first time seeing an event like this and she wanted her daughter to get all painted, but she wanted to see it happen. Sadly, they were swamped with customers so I finally grabbed some of the makeup, took the chairs down to the salon and did the girls face down there!
They gave me a coupon for a free appointment ^___^
But yeah, we had a line-up from when we started at 10 all the way till 5 and people even stayed in line while we took a 15 minute lunch break. And all of them were really good!
And then after we had Lee's b-day! And he loved his cake, although I was right in knowing that the first slice of the cake would be taking Mami's head off ;______;
And now this afternoon we have four pumpkins that need to be carved and I get back to work on two more commissions for this coming weekend. Optimus Prime and Fairy Barbie......
Anyways, I'll see if I can get photos if anyone is interested?
