Hmmm, so need opinions again. How is it looking so far? The background is still being refined, and I know there are problems with the actual drawing ((which I didn't see until colour was there ^^;))

But it's okay....





Still not sure if I wanna shade it in my normal style, or the 'painter' style I've been playing with...any suggestions?

I'm almost tempted to just cut it off under Ace's elbow ;___;

Holy Shnap, that'd one gorgeous background! I like the colour scheme, especially how the blacks aren't true blacks. As for styles why don't you try both? *waggles eyebrows* I like Ace's legs they just too smexy to cut! Plus, if you cut them he wouldn't be able to strike all those sexy poses! Of course since this is Ace we're talking about I'm sure he could easily be sexy without them XD

OMG! That is so fucking good. I really, really really love it. I mean the colours are wonderful and everything just works so well together. Damn this piece. I keep forgetting to mention this in the previous posts, but I love how you used One Piece Wii costume design for Sanji <3

If i do crop it, we won't see that hand >_>;; And I just had to play with this outfit...and now that I have figurines of most of them in their new outfits. . . .I'm going to be playing with them a hell of a lot more ^___^

I suggest going with a more painter style, because that might help increase the mood overall.

Yes, I should...(has a bad habit of starting pictures and never finishing them) You should see my sketchbook. It's got everything from basic sketches that were abandoned to partially completed inking TT_TT

If you don't mind my asking, how exactly do you go about coloring your pictures? I mean, do you fill in the background first and then the flat coloring of the characters and then the shading? I'm really bad at coloring (as well as rather clueless) which is probably why I abandon so many pics...And your completed pieces always blow me away (like WOAH!) so I figured I'd attempt to find some advice ^_^''

But yeah, my birthday's Aug. 5th. I'm gonna be home alone too, cuz my family is out of town...and for some reason all my friends have dropped off the face of the earth TT_TT I don't suppose you know of any good cake recipes? (is going to attempt to bake her own cake from scratchl)

Awww, that's no fair being alone on your b-day (but I know what it feels like...) Well, hopefully the day still ends up being nice for you. And I'm sure i have recipes around here somewhere >_>

As for colouring...

I do a layer of one or two main colours I want in the picture and then do a layer on top that is just big brush strokes of all the colours in the background, in the general areas I want them (like grass, a rock, water, building, lights, etc....) and then once I have that down, I can choose the colours(or shades for already established colours) I want my characters to have. And as you can see above, I block in all those colours on their own layer and afterwards it's just a matter of shading. But by having the background colours there, you can see where your light source is and what colours would reflect on what.

The color scheme works really well. I don't have an opinion on "painter" vs regular- I like your regular style, but I'm always curious to see what artists do when they try new things, so. .-.

For me, what I like about this now that it's colored is that even though Sanji's the one in the air, he's clearly got Ace by the short hairs. XD Dunno who's uke, but Ace is CLEARLY Sanji's bitch. ♥

I am so very glad you can tell who is in charge here ^_____^ That, I think, is what is fun about Ace for me. He doesn't really care about the power struggle, as long as both parties end up satisfied in the end. . .

Or at least that is what I believe >_> And really, Ace's hands holding him up aren't really needed. Sanji's holding most of his own weight ^___^

I'm really terrible at coloring styles, so I really couldn't tell you which looks better. But! I love the rich colors in this, the dark reds and oranges and browns look really good. Also the texture of the waves and the clouds is really nice, and even though it's a work in progess, I really like the way the finished texture of the waves contrast with the blocked in coloring of the boys. So that's my two cents.

Crop all that wonderful prettiness out? NOO! I love that sunset and the water is very pretty. Of cousre I must say that neither of them are a beautiful as the forms of Ace and Sanji. Yum. I'm sure Ace would like to keep his elbow attached to his body though. Oh it's breakfast time, have you eaten?

I've only just noticed what you've got Sanji wearing, I was so distacted before by the head tilt and legs around waist thing. Mmmm, Unlimited Adventure. Love the sunset colours, they match the heat of the picture perfectly. You can't cut it, that would mean we wouldn't be able to see Ace's hand digging into Sanji's thigh! I don't notice any problems at all, my untrained eye sees nothing but sultry perfection.

I've just gotten figurines of them in their Unlimited outfits, so now that I have good reference....expect more of it ^_____^

And I really(somewhat) wish you guys had let me cut the picture off, because shading that water is killing me, but I can't stop now because it's actually looking pretty and thus I both hate you guys for making me do so much work, and love you for forcing myself to go further. . .
