Oh good....even though people have been telling me it's fine, I was still worried about whether the water actually looked like water >_>

Also, I must know what kind of a shading technique that is that you're using on the guys. *is curious*

How to describe it...well, it's in photoshop and so, once I have a base layer of the colours, I make another layer over top, set my brush to multipy, with a medium opacity level (around 50-60)and then grab the domiant dark shade from the background (in this case, the deep reddish brown) and then go ovre all the areas that will be in shadows. I do a few layers in each area, so that I get all the different shades in the skin clothes etc...and then I grab all the highlight colours and lightly drag them over the areas that will be highlighted.

This now gives me a full colour palette for when i start shading them. After that, it's just a lot of painting and blending, all on a layer above the one with my colours....

The background looks awesome. It flows very nicely and is...urm...organic's the word that comes to mind. Touchable! :) I don't think you're killing it at all! I like it lots!

The water is something I expect to see from a painting at the Smithsonian. It's really cool, that slight touch of storm-kissed foam that you have on it.

But what really gets me? That sunset glow that you have around the boys.

Hopefully I can keep that glow as I continue to paint it. So how is your fishing coming along?

YaY! The water! LoL. It weirds me out a little that the right side of the water has the light's reflection and the left side is all in shadow...maybe put a few light touches on the left side of the right water? And the highlights on Sanji's nose so far make it look a little funny...but maybe that's just me.

But Sanji's hair is amazing. (caught self examining it...LoL!) So are the clouds. I especially love the burst of the setting sun in there. I tried to examine it as well and it blinded me XD

Oh and today I came across the figurines from Ultimate Adventure! I bought a Zoro and a Sanji (shouldn't have bought any at all cuz I'm poor, but I couldn't help it), and I gotta say, Holy shit, those are the coolest outfits ever!! I can't wait to see more of your drawings in them ^^

The face is driving me insane (growls at it) and before I add more colour to the water, I'm going to see how it looks with the boys shaded, because that might bring enough shadows over to that side that it will be a little more acceptable. . .

Yeah, I got a set of them in those outfits and i adore them too much to not wanna play with them ^____^

I know! I bought mine right before my sister and I went to Ihop, and I ended up taking them out of the boxes while we were there and putting them on the stands...only for my sister to tell me off, saying "Toys aren't meant for stands! Haven't you ever seen Toy Story? They'll escape when you aren't looking and sneak off to have wild bishie sex and you'll find them in compromising positions the next day!" XDD Ah, I love my sister....

There are a couple areas where I'm wondering how you're going to do the lighting, because this is pretty ambitious...but you're not finished yet, so I'm really looking forward to seeing the completed work. XD Is there going to be a way to buy a print of this?

Sanji's rather aggressive, legs wrapped firmly around Ace (dangerously lovely legs!) one hand wrapped around the neck, the other holding the hat strings.... despite the fact that he's in the more "feminine" postion being held, he's VERY much taking charge of this kiss!

And may I ooh and ahh over Sanji's buckles and belty bits? And lick just a bit at the lickable belly that Ace has? (And bicep.... well... ok, all of Ace is really lickable... except his toes... I've never found toes licakble...)

Ace lets Sanji be aggressive because he knows he has nothing to prove, and he figures the poor blonde needs some time in charge ^___^ And you may 'ohh and ahh' and lick whatever you like!

I'm just very glad all the effort seems to be worth it so far.

God. The texture in the water, in the clouds... even if it were not for the very yummy couple in the center, I think I'd *still* be staring at this piece for long times on end. I'm a little in agreement on the less lightness of the right side of the water drew my attention, but the more I look at it, the more it looks perfectly normal, like cloud shadow and... yeah... babbling... sorry. Still very, VERY good. (+1 fangirling)

Yeah, hopefully shading the figures will even out the two sides of the water...if not, i have to go back and play with the water X__X

Gorgeous. Positively gorgeous. I've been looking at this piece since you first posted it, and still haven't been able to come up with a real coherent response. XD; *is great at commenting like that, what*

The water is just... guh. It is lovely. It kind of reminds me of old oil paintings in a way, for some reason. The gentle dabbing and flow of the paint, the bold and subtle colors... And the sky. And of course the KISS, since that's the focus of this piece. There's nothing that screams uke about either of them, and that makes me all kinds of happy. That co-equal kind of dominance is just plain delicious.

All the little details about this one are great too, babe. Especially on Sanji's costume. The way the sun just sort of hits them and highlights them against the darker background is wonderful too.

All this on a WIP... @.@ The finished thing will probably be death by hotness. No pun intended on Ace's account, of course. <3

Even with Zoro I can't really see Sanji as uke and so with Ace, it just seemed fitting to have them on a more even footing.

And i hope i can finish this one the way I want to. It's looking good so far, but there are still a lot of places I could easily mess it up. . .
