So, I've contacted D.O.D where I got Delmar from and they worked with me last night. They put the hands I needed back in stock earlier then they planned and had one on hold for me so that this morning I could order them (I had to wait for the bank to transfer some money onto my credit card) so now hopefully the order goes through okay.

And if it does, in a few weeks, Delmar will have his hand again.

I still feel bad, actually I still feel horrible, but I can breathe easier this morning and so brought him out and started working a bit more on his coat. I am going to have to get him a 'get-well' present though because the poor boy looks so sad.

But, he fell face forward.

Onto a hard wood floor.

And only his hand broke.

He could have shattered, but he didn't and for that I'm very thankful. I'll be keeping a closer eye on him now when he's standing, but I think it's just because I hit what he was standing on, usually with the boots on he stands good.

I'm glad that at least "only" a hand broke. Of course you still feel horrible, but it's good that he will have his hand back soon, so it's just like if you broke a hand it it healed again.
As long as his face and everything else is not broken, then I'm sure Delmar will be back to normal soon ^.^

Lucky indeed! And double lucky that Dream of Doll just restocked on hands! You hear all kinds of faceplant horror stories, from chipped noses to escapee eyes to gouged foreheads--I'm glad it was just his hand (even though "just" his hand is horrible and traumatic and makes Delmar and Luco sad pandas). Then again, you also hear things like dolls taking flying leaps off of high shelving onto concrete floors without a scratch, so I'm starting to think some dolls just have better reflexes than others. >>;

Oh, and the coat? Hardcore. It suits Delmar very well--it looks a little bit like the kind of jacket you'd expect the main character in a Japanese high school gang drama to wear.

Poor Delmar! I'm glad he's on his way to recovery (even if it might take a couple of weeks). BTW, I loved the coat. I just found your post about it really late last night, so I didn't comment. I wish I had a coat like that. I love dragons. Oh yeah, I really like that necklace he has on too.

That critter looked pretty cool and the coat was perfect. The design fell down the back just right. You are a fan of many talents!

Is the doll about 3 feet tall? Dolls that size are eerie, like stone children. If they stand on their own it looks like they might move on their own. Would some kind of a stand that grips the legs and is untippable be a good idea? Or cut a sheet of lead to fit inside the shoes so it isnt top heavy. You can buy a roll of thick heavy lead wire in any fishing supply department where deep water fish are a local option, or ask at a hardware or crafts store. If you wrapped the lead wire in masking, duct or foam tape (wash your hands after!) and coiled it around the ankles, it might help the critter stay upright. Or course a hard knock will still tip it over.

Today Zoro is listening to the Partridge Family's "I Think I Love You" and fantasizing about Sanji.

The coat was amazing! I had to go back to look at it though, when I was here last the post above it sort-a took all my attention away. I love the design on the back, it's super neat!
