DONE! Finally!
Sep. 26th, 2007 09:53 pmSo, I finished my first animation of the year! Sadly, the video is really dark because it was a rushed shooting, but if you play with the brightness you should see it ;___; I'd actually re-do it if I wasn't so exhausted, but right now, screw it.
Anyways. . .
I tried turning it into a flash file. I think it's too large but it seems to load up fine on my computer and the net has been really slow here recently so hopefully you can see it?
If not, I can play with it again. . .
But I know it's not perfect, but it's pretty damn good for having to do all of it on my own, while sick and not having a light-table to work with. That's right, all those drawingsa re done through flipping! And I'll admit I'm more then a little proud of that!
So again, sorry for the crappy quality, but if you'd like to see it, go here and it should work. Yell at me if it doesn't since I'm convinced flash hates me.

I hope you're feeling better. Sucks having to do work and take care of yourself trying to balance everything.

(I'll ask again... what would you recommend to someone who probably could and would never get into an animation class who has this strong urge to try to animate something way out of her abilities other than "loser, you'll never do anything worth looking at-go drink bleach." From looking at blogs, animators seem like really miserable and anal people. O_o. Do your teachers seem that way? I'm scared they'll come for me while I sleep and talk about how horrible my sketchbook is)

Date: 2007-09-30 06:03 pm (UTC)But beyond that, they're good teachers and encourage us.
As to what to do to start learning it, or just play around with it. . .hmmm. Get a three ring binder and hole punch a lot of blank paper. Make sure the binder isn't too deep and use that as a set up for flipping. Unless you have a store that can sell you a peg bar and animation paper? I know pegbars are usually $5 for a plastic one and animation paper comes in packs of 500 for $30.
Get that all together and I'll try to figure out how to best explain the animation process that we use. . .

Date: 2007-09-30 11:09 pm (UTC)But 'til then... I found a two hole hole puncher and punched some holes in some paper XD. I don't know how I'll bind it, but the other side is still attached to the book. Now I have to start drawing, I guess.... (After preliminary sketches, I guess after that, I'll start detaching and finding a place to put them so I can move papers around and add and subtract.
