So, since you all seem to adore the picture in the last post (which makes me more then pleased) I thought I'd show you another in-progress shot of it. One where you can see how I made it even more difficult for me...

I made the damn flute glow and thus added another light source >_< If I didn't adore it so much I'd be screaming right now. Would have liked to do more today but my hand is saying 'NO!' so that's all you get for now. Sorry.

Wow. o.o count me in for a print for sure o.o

And I wish you best of luck with the dual light sources! ♥

It actually turned out to have three light sources in the end...the sunset, flute and then the stars in the wings...

One day I'll do a nice simple picture. . .

I take it you like it? Speaking of which, I owe you art for buying me comic pages last summer, would you accept a print of this first until I finish that art?

Holy hell, this is gorgeous. Love the water and the sky and the glowing flute and the dragon...okay, so basically everything *______* Rest your hand up, this is turning out really lovely ♥

It shows I'm slowly getting better....and I have to admit, this style of painting, even though it's hellish to do, is also soo much fun ^__^

All the different glowy bits are slowly killing me, but they look so pretty in the end that I can't resist. . .

Mwah ha ha ha haaa! Now I can pick apart even MORE of your awesome ability!
...not that I will ever even APPROACH this level, but MWAH HA HA HA HAAA anyway! XD

In all seriousness, though, I THOUGHT you must be blending several strokes together. Do you use the smudge tool to smooth them out?

Date: 2008-04-30 12:03 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] luco-millian.livejournal.com
Nope, no smudge tool. It's all done with airbrush. . .if I can figure out how to take screenshots of my desktop, then I could probably do a tutorial if you were interested. . .

I would be EXTREMELY interested. I ADORE your coloring style and have been trying to pick it apart for weeks now (my method: find something somebody else does, mimic it, find out how it works, adapt to my style - I'm not just ripping ya off XD) Airbrush! I always overlook that! I tend toward paintbrush, I'll have to try it!
Don't go out of your way for me or anything, but if you DID happen to make a tutorial, I'd love it!
Usually you can get screen caps by hitting "print screen" then opening a new file and ctrl+V (paste) it in there.
Thanks for replying!
