lucoSo yeah....I have been typing in between drawings >>; Nothing really close to complete and all of it rough, but there was one short little piece for the Bodyguards AU that I figured I would put up since people do seem to like that storyline...
I need a place to put things so they don't get lost or forgotten...
But remember, I suck at writing, so uh, don't laugh. Please?
Just a warning.
Zuko may have been new to the whole Fire Lord thing, and the idea of him needing bodyguards still seemed absurd... but even he was sure that bodyguards were suppose to protect.
This did not seem like protection.
Actually, he was pretty sure he could call it assault, and he'd say so if it weren't for the fact that he was gagged.
And bound.
Yes. He had been tied up and gagged by rope that wouldn't burn.
He was going to have to talk with Teo again. But first, he had some bodyguards to murder.
"Oh relax Zuko. This is for your own good!" Jet sauntered over and flopped down into Zuko's lap, slinging an arm behind his head and smirking in that certain way that sent Zuko growling.
The bastard probably practiced that smirk just for that reason.
"The wine was poisoned, assassins were hidden behind the curtains and there are a few servants hanging around that no one remembers hiring." Zuko simply rolled his eyes and looked the other way.
A harsh grip in his hair halted that move and he was forcibly yanked back around and forced to stare into Jet's suddenly serious eyes.
"Look, Fire Lord." Uh-oh, Jet was using titles. "I know you think you can handle this. I know you don't consider it a problem, but --" He raised his free hand and brushed aside Zuko's hair, exposing the scar along the left side of his neck, the one that started this whole bodyguard mess. "--this wasn't a joke. You're lucky to be alive."
Okay, so it had been a close call. But Zuko had still managed to take out the guy, bandage his wound and get to his meeting on time. He admits he could have done a better first-aid job, but he honestly hadn't thought the meeting would take as long as it did.
Or that he would pass out from blood-loss. It was just a cut! The beating Mai had given him later had actually hurt more...
But back to the situation at hand. Jet was still staring and still frowning. He could probably tell how unimpressed Zuko was feeling because the hand in Zuko's hair tightened it's hold.
Zuko winced, but Jet didn't let go.
"This is serious Zuko. It's the fourth attack this month and whoever they are, they're getting better and far more organized." He let go of Zuko's hair and stood up. "Mai and Haru are with General Iroh and Toph. A complete sweep of the Palace is being done." He gestured to the room they were in. "Haru made this room this morning and you're staying in here until they're done."
Zuko sighed. His Bodyguards were in full 'mother-hen-mode' again. He would just have to play along. But it still didn't explain him being tied to a chair and gagged.
Then again, it was better then being chained to a wall, or followed around by Appa, or sunk into the ground, or pinned by Jet's swords and/or Mai's knives...
And he wasn't naked this time either.
He'd wait a little longer before he really started complaining.
Jet still had his swords, and Zuko knew exactly what he was capable of with them.
