So, woke up early ((because there was actual sunlight out!)) and started drawing.

And something actually got drawn.

Although....I'm not sure if it's finished or what it's about and so uhhh....I could use some input...

Not sure how I feel about the drawing itself....

Oooh, that's interesting! They are fishy-girls? It is a very pretty picture, with the one reaching for the dragon and the more-fishy-like girl behind her.

Ummmmmm. Fire!girl fell into the river but is Summoning her dragon protector while the Fishy!girl watches in awe because she has never come in contact with a Fire!girl before. I think.

Still not sure what is going on, but I've been fiddling with brushes and the GIMP anyway, so... icons!

EDIT: Yeah, yeah, I know I should be shot for one of these...

Very nice, as always. I'm pretty sure there's an epic tale nicely woven into this pic.

I love the colors in this piece to death, as well as the concepts. Always wonderful ideas from you ^__^ Always! <3 The anatomy is a little weird in this piece on both of the ladies though. I'm not sure if you wanna go back when you're this far in, but just a heads up in case you're looking for that kind of crit *hug*

I love the way that fishy girl's body actually looks like a fish, and also the nuance in how her hair is both hair and frilly fin. I also love the way that red girl's robe is flowing. Lovely.

Interestingly, I just read some random trivia that said that in Chinese culture, dragons are wise and venerable creatures who protect and purify river and other bodies of water.

Therefore, this is the end of a tale in which 3 princesses are turned into koi and kept in the palace pond by their evil guardian, until a dragon comes and purifies them back to their true forms.

S'interesting. And there is a story there. You just need to figure out what it is.

Also gives me an opportunity to share this:

So, I really kind of like this. I like how there's alot of stories that could go with this, like that parable about the fish and the bird, only instead it's more than one fish and the sun.

I also like the idea that even though the girls themselves are mythical, it's almost like the main girl is telling a myth of her own in relation to the sun.

Damn, a picture really IS worth a thousand words.

Beautiful work, love. The way the top of the picture is so bright is absolutely wonderful. I want to see that in an art show somewhere. If not up there, then send it my way and I'll put it in for either AUSA or Darkover.

There is only one suggestion I would make, and that is on the dragon itself. I think that when it comes out in a hard format, it will be too faded because it is bright. What would you think of doing some outlining of the facial features and body? I don't think in black, though, because that would be too much of a contrast to its brightness. And I would recommend that you leave its feet not outlined, to give it more of a "in the process of summoning" look.
