So, remember how I said I wanted to try painting again? Well I've started this afternoon ^___^ And I'm trying to do a little dragon. So if anyone is interested, you can see the progress so far >_>; Not much, but kind of interesting?

So first...I had forgotten how to draw a decent dragon, thus i spent a few hours just sketching these guys! it was alot of fun and as a side-note...I always do rough sketches like this is pen when i can, because it allows you to focus on the drawing, getting the gesture and movement right simply because you can't correct small details like you could with a pencil....

It's my preferred, study-sketch method ^__^

Next i got my drawing planned out and drew it onto the watercolour paper!

And then did a rough outline with a nearly dead micron pen!

Now, this is the first layer of ink done with a brush.....I'll be doing all the shading in ink and then putting colour over top. Wish me luck?

It looks a little blah right now because I haven't added any line quality or anything. Hopefully it looks good when it's done.

I think...I'm just going to play in Open canvas now >_> I need a break and that needs to dry. . .

Best thing in the world to do when your stuck: get reference.

And I admit, I love doing quick sketches like that. My drawings always seem to improve after a day of sketching >_>

Oh man. You know, someday I'm going to own my own place and I'm going to pay you lots of money to come and paint on my walls. Like, a big one of those iguanas/dragons. Maybe like Japanese brushpainting style, black on cream. Oh I like this idea.... ^___^

That....would be pretty.

And I miss painting on walls so I'm all for that idea too ^___^

So pretty. (And I kind of want your rough sketches of the lizards.)

The rough sketches did turn out rather nicely. . .I'm quite fond of them. But if you want copies I can see what I could do for you?

Really? That would be awesome; they came out so well! ^__^

That looks so good already. It's more effort then what I put in some of my paintings

Amazing though. I can't wait to see it once its finished especially with your style. ^____^

Well, the dragon is partially shaded and I'm no longer too sure on what I'm doing. But it's an experiment so we shall see what happens. I may finish shading him a bit more and then post another picture for you guys to give me feedback on.

That is simply adorable. Is there nothing you can draw and make look awesome? I think not!

BTW, the background is truly inspired... it takes real talent to make such a captivating background.

Hopefully i can paint the background as well as i can draw it ^___^ Wish me luck, please??

Pish posh, it's coming along swimmingly (...pun not intended). I like how much variety the background already has, and all the pre-painting doodles XD I think the method you're using is really interesting too...but then again I don't paint much to know about these things~

Can't wait to see how this turns out, of course x3

The doodles are always my favourite part of painting ^___^ I adore just doing pen sketches!

It looks really good and all your sketches are good too! (Seriously, you can DRAW and that impresses me to no end.) I'm looking forward to seeing what colors you go with.

*laughs* Yeah, but I can only draw and not much else ^^;

And I think I know the colours I'm using, but I'm not sure...will have to play with colour schemes once it's shaded. . .

Psssh...*clunks luco upside the head* It looks great now as well... and it'll be the best looking dragon in uh, dragon history when it's done.
All the girl and boy dragons will haunt it

I'm so proud! My little baby dragon already has stalkers *____*

hehehehe.... I think everything you've ever drawn has their own stalkers. Hey, who knows?! We might even qualify as an independent country of stalkers ^___^

SQUEE. I love seeing your reference sketches (you build dragons how I do!) and I adore that you've drawn one of my favorite things. It's marvelous and fun, and I'm happy you shared!

It is indeed printer paper because it is cheap and I don't feel bad tearing it up if something goes wrong ^____^ I don't really put anything behind it though. . . .

And it's nice to see another Sanji/Zoro fan show up but I have to say 'Lessons' is an interesting one to start with >_>; And sadly, I only know Dethklok because of dethorats's fics. . . .have yet to watch the series though.
